The office of the deputy President has written to the Inspector General of police, seeking an official explanation on the withdrawal of General Service unite at his residential homes.
In a statement by the comunication security, David Mugeni on Thursday, the Deputy president office complained about what it termed a ” dubious demonstration of bad faith”
David Mugeni says the withdrawal extends to all his residence, adding that no explanation was offered for the unlawful act.
“The of the deputy President has formally written to the inspector General of Police, seeking an official explanation on this matter, and reason for the breach of the security,” read part of the statement.
Mugonyi further highlights several instances where security agencies have been used to frustrat the DP among the recent disruption of Mahoo MCA where he was in attendance.
Meanwhile, Police spokesman Bruno Shioso said the change was normal.
He said police through its various unit are mandated to provide general security to government buildings and critical infrastructure including security to VVIPs and their residence.
“Today August 26, 2021 the security government building unit has been deployed to provide general security to the official residence of the deputy president and take over from the GSU,”
