Raila Odinga gets second jab against Covid-19, urges Kenyans to follow suit.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has urged Kenya to be vaccinated in an effort to contain the spread of Covid-19.

Raila, who wrote on his Twitter account, after receiving his second AstraZeneca vaccine jab, seven weeks after getting the first dose on July 30, said getting vaccinated was the best way of containing the disease.

“Got my 2nd dose of AstraZeneca vaccine. I urge all Kenyans to go and get Vaccinated and follow up their second jab if applicable. It is the surest way of reigning in this pandemic,” he wrote

The Kenyan goverment has been urging the public to get Vaccinated against Covid-19 as the delta variant causes a spike in infections and death.

According to the latest data by the Ministry of Health, the goverment has administered 3,031,728 vaccines as at September 21.

2,504,869 Kenyans have obtained the first dose while 859,453 have received the two jabs.

CS Kagwe had earlier said that the government goal was to ensure at least 10million people are vaccinated before Christmas, which has been boosted by by donation of Covid-19 Vaccines from different countries.
