Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made a public declaration that Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) camp. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Starehe Affordable Housing project, Gachagua shared how Jalang’o was chased from the Azimio Parliamentary Group meeting.
Gachagua’s statement suggests that Jalang’o was received with open arms by the UDA camp after meeting with President William Ruto at State House. This declaration comes amid growing tensions within the political arena, with different parties and camps trying to win over influential leaders.
Moreover, Gachagua urged Daragoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi to join the Kenya Kwanza camp, which he claimed only focuses on development. He emphasized the importance of building a united front to advance the interests of the nation.
Jalang’o had earlier narrated how he was blocked from entering the Azimio meeting in Machakos, and Raila Odinga’s security asked him to leave when the ODM leader arrived. However, ODM party members have dismissed the State House meetings as a ploy to distract the nation from issues such as the high cost of living and corruption.
