Josephine, who had been living in a rented house, was found dead inside her home on Thursday, August 29. The heartbreaking news was shared widely on social media, prompting an outpouring of grief from friends and family.
Close friends revealed that Josephine had been battling severe depression, exacerbated by the challenges of her pregnancy.
Her situation became more desperate due to the emotional and financial neglect she suffered at the hands of her partner.
Excerpts from online chats between Josephine and her friends painted a grim picture of her struggles. She lamented that her partner had abandoned her, choosing instead to spend his time and resources on other women in Kisumu’s entertainment spots.
