Artist Vivianne has surprised many of her fans with an emotional video in which she explains her reasons for renouncing Christianity.

Through her Instagram account, Vivianne expressed that she no longer sees any reason to continue believing in Christianity due to the pain and suffering she has experienced in life.

“Can I tell you why I no longer believe in Christianity? I don’t think I have a choice. The foundations of Christianity are control and fear. It’s about living my entire life based on what is written in a book. All your decisions and everything about you are dictated by this book…”

Vivianne went on to say that many people have used this book [the Bible] to justify harming others and then escape accountability by finding satisfaction in the scriptures regarding their actions towards others.

“I believe in the power of our spirits, the power of creation; I believe that we are part of the entire universe, and we are all connected. I believe that humans are powerful beings because I believe that within each of us resides our own gods.”

The artist further explained that what makes her despise Christianity even more is how the Bible portrays women as afterthoughts, created after everything else – including men.

“This book portrays women as an afterthought. Because man was created first, and then a woman was created to serve him. Yet it is women who bring life into the world. So how can we say that this book holds the authority to guide us? It cannot,” she said.

“Christianity is like a disease; it takes over our minds. It is an institution designed to empower a few while stripping power from many,” she added.

Vivianne also hinted that her sentiments are influenced by a past relationship with someone who called himself a servant of God but turned out to be a thorn in her love life.

“I have been to Bible school, and it was good. I have been in a relationship with someone who called himself a servant of God, but the level of pain, suffering, and control that comes with that can lead to your demise. So believe me when I tell you that Christianity is a harmful ideology,” she emphasized.
