Businessman and social media star Morara Kebaso, known for his viral videos imitating President William Ruto, has revealed a dramatic encounter with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Kebaso claims that moments after leaving a K24 TV interview, he narrowly avoided arrest by the DCI.
Kebaso, whose satirical videos have gained widespread popularity, recounted the incident in a recent video.
He described how, just before departing from the TV station, he received a direct message alerting him that DCI officers were waiting for him near his car in a pickup truck.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Kebaso chose to take an alternate route to avoid confrontation.
In a twist of fate, he boarded a matatu, a public minibus, where passengers spontaneously asked him to address them.
Using this opportunity, Kebaso delivered an impromptu session of “Civic Education,” blending his trademark humor with serious commentary.
“Before I left K24, I was sent a DM that DCI was waiting next to my car. I decided to take a different exit and boarded a matatu. In the matatu, the public demanded that I address them. I injected sense. Civic Education,” Kebaso shared in his video.
The businessman has been vocal about experiencing intimidation and harassment from both government and Nairobi County officials.
Kebaso attributes this to his viral videos, which parody President Ruto’s speeches. He believes that these videos have made him a target for government scrutiny.
In his statement, Kebaso expressed his frustration with the ongoing governmental pressure, including recent visits from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and Nairobi County officials.
Despite these challenges, he remains defiant. “I know I look fine, but I am not okay. The government has been on my neck and in my business badly. I expect the DCI tonight. Come one, come all. I am fearless,” he declared.
Kebaso, who also runs Morara Home Furniture, remains undeterred by the threats and harassment.
He highlighted his versatility, stating he could succeed as a content creator, preacher, author, or motivational speaker.
“If Steve SimpleBoy can sing, then I can be Michael Jackson himself. I could even defeat them in an election. I am fearless,” Kebaso asserted.
