A section of youths from Butula Constituency has come out in strong support of Timothy Dennis Namatsi’s bid for the parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections, terming him the most suitable candidate to lead the region into a new era of accountability and development.

The youths, drawn from various wards and sub-locations, expressed confidence in Namatsi’s leadership style, describing him as approachable, visionary, and deeply rooted in community service.

Evans Okwero, a youth leader from Namwitsula sub-location, said the current leadership has failed to address the real challenges facing the young generation.

“We want a leader who speaks our language — jobs, skills, and education. Namatsi has proven that he understands the needs of the youth,” Okwero stated.

Peter Olwero from Ikonzo echoed similar sentiments, noting that Namatsi’s development agenda aligns with the aspirations of the constituency’s youthful population.

“Unlike others who come with empty promises, Namatsi has been active in mentorship programs and small enterprise support. We trust his vision,” he said.

From Elugulu ward, Kizito Olengo urged fellow youths to take the 2027 elections seriously and support a leader who prioritizes opportunities for the next generation.

“Our future is on the ballot. If we want bursaries, working roads, and training centers, then Namatsi is the way to go,” he remarked.

Simon Ouma of Ogalo village praised Namatsi’s promise to invest in youth and women empowerment programs and ensure transparency in the use of Constituency Development Funds (CDF).

“We need someone who is ready to be accountable and accessible. Namatsi’s pledge to hold town halls every quarter is what true leadership looks like,” he added.

The youths criticized the current leadership for what they termed as limited engagement with the grassroots and lack of meaningful progress in sectors such as education, infrastructure, and employment.

They also welcomed Namatsi’s commitment to revamping bursary distribution systems and rehabilitating feeder roads across the constituency.

“This is no longer politics as usual,” said Okwero. “We are tired of recycled leadership. Namatsi gives us hope, and we are ready to walk with him to the ballot.”

As the race for Butula’s parliamentary seat gains momentum, Namatsi’s growing support among the youth signals a shifting political tide that could redefine the region’s future leadership.
