A few weeks ago, social media was abuzz with reports of the death of Willis Ayieko, a Wells Fargo HR manager, whose body was discovered in Nyamninia, Gem location.
Speculations quickly circulated, with some Kenyans suspecting that Ayieko might have been targeted due to his involvement in an ongoing investigation into a Ksh 94 million heist that hit the security firm late last year.
In that incident, staff members allegedly stole the funds while transporting money from a Quick Mart supermarket, intended for deposit in a bank along Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi County.
Friends, family, and colleagues hinted at this angle, suggesting that Ayieko’s participation in internal security discussions may have placed him in a vulnerable position.
“The management of the security company sat in a series of high-level meetings to address the crisis. Willis Ayieko, the HR manager, was part of these meetings where the company initiated a parallel internal investigation into the matter,” a close family member previously told Nation.
However, unconfirmed reports now suggest another possible motive behind Ayieko’s murder.
According to leaked WhatsApp chats shared by @Asamoh on X, Ayieko may have been killed after repeatedly ignoring warnings to stay away from another man’s wife.
The husband, reportedly frustrated with Ayieko’s refusal to heed the warnings, allegedly took drastic measures.
The chat details claim Ayieko was tortured, with his eyes gouged out and his body mutilated, in what some speculate was a crime of passion.
In the circulating messages, it’s stated that Ayieko’s relationship with the woman was not a secret. Allegedly, the two were seen together on various trips and visits to places like Alego and Little Gem Resort.
Despite the warnings, Ayieko’s continued association with the woman seemingly led to his gruesome death.
The conversations hint at a connection between Ayieko’s social associations and his demise, leaving friends and family grappling with two possible narratives behind his tragic end: involvement in the high-stakes security breach investigation or a personal dispute that spiraled into violence.
