Kiambu County police have launched an investigation into the tragic death of a radio presenter whose body was discovered in her boyfriend’s home in Kahawa West on Friday, November 1.

Lilian Achieng Aluko, 33, a presenter at local station Radio 44, had been reported missing just a day earlier after telling her family she would be spending the night at her boyfriend’s residence.

Tragically, her family’s last conversation with her was Thursday, and on Friday morning, they were informed of her untimely death.

According to preliminary police reports, Aluko’s body was found with visible injuries, including a stab wound behind her right ear.

Investigators suspect she may have been brutally murdered by her boyfriend, who is now the primary suspect and has since gone into hiding. Police have launched a manhunt for him, as the case draws increasing attention amidst a disturbing rise in femicide cases across the country.

Neighbors recounted hearing sounds of a heated altercation on the night of the incident, noting that loud music blared from the house, masking the violent sounds from inside.

Unable to intervene, they were left helpless until authorities arrived the next morning. A knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered at the scene.

Aluko’s family and friends are devastated by her sudden death. Her mother, in mourning, shared that she last saw her daughter when she left at 11 a.m. Thursday.

“She told me she was going to a friend’s, but never returned. On Friday, I got a call from an unknown number informing me of her death,” her mother recounted tearfully.

Described by those close to her as “bubbly and full of life,” Aluko’s passing has shaken the local community. Her sister expressed profound grief, lamenting that Aluko’s “light has been taken too soon.”

Friends remembered her as a compassionate and loving individual, with one close friend eulogizing, “We have lost a very good girl in the hands of someone she probably really loved.”
