Rachel Otuoma, wife of the ailing footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, has spoken out following the resurfacing of a woman claiming financial assistance for the two children she had with Ezekiel.
Ezekiel Otuoma, who is battling motor neurone disease, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), requires constant care and support. The disease has significantly impacted his physical capabilities, making Rachel’s role as his caregiver even more critical.
In recent days, Rachel has had to defend herself against criticisms after videos of her and Ezekiel went viral on TikTok.
In the videos, Rachel is seen with a Ghanaian pastor praying for her husband, sparking both support and skepticism online.
During a live video session with the pastor, Ezekiel managed to stand with assistance, a moment that gave hope to some and raised questions for others.
Rachel addressed the issue in an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, clarifying her stance on the demands made by Ezekiel’s baby mama.
She emphasized her primary responsibility is to her husband, not to his past relationships or children.
“Negatives will always be there; you cannot be loved by everyone. The fact remains I am with my husband, I am taking care of him, and that is the most important thing. Others are none of my business,” she stated.
Rachel expressed her frustration at being asked to provide financial support when her husband is the one in need of help. She questioned the timing and motives behind the baby mama’s demands, noting that Ezekiel’s condition requires all her attention and resources.
“The kids are none of my business. My business is Otuoma if he is okay or not, if he has his medication or not,” she said.
Rachel also revealed plans for the Ghanaian pastor to visit Kenya, despite online criticism, to continue supporting Ezekiel’s recovery journey.
