Popular political commentator Nuru Okanga has disclosed that he has received Ksh 700,000 from Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi.
The financial support follows Sudi’s promise during a live interview on the Oga Obinna Show, where he committed to giving Okanga Ksh 1.3 million to help him establish several businesses.
Speaking to the media, Okanga expressed his gratitude and confirmed the receipt of the funds.
“I can confirm that I have received Ksh 700,000 in my bank account from Oscar Sudi,” he said. After receiving the money, Okanga traveled to his village to purchase construction materials as he begins to implement his business plans.
During the live show, Sudi had pledged to support Okanga after hearing about his challenging living conditions. The politician promised to help Okanga set up a car wash, posho mill, and a salon for his wife to improve their financial stability.
Sudi also committed to buying Okanga a three-bedroom house under the Affordable Housing Programme and advised him to choose a home in Nairobi.
Okanga, who is the breadwinner of his family, had initially requested Ksh 300,000 to start a salon for his wife but later mentioned that Ksh 1 million would significantly improve his life. S
udi responded by promising a more substantial amount to support various business ventures.
Despite his excitement about the financial assistance, Okanga faced some skepticism about managing multiple businesses simultaneously.
Both Sudi and Oga Obinna advised him to start small and focus on fewer ventures initially. They suggested prioritizing the car wash and posho mill, ensuring proper management and stability before expanding to other businesses.
Okanga acknowledged the advice but remained optimistic about his plans. He intends to use the money to invest in the posho mill, set up a car yard, kiosk, and a furniture shop in his rural home, alongside the salon for his wife.
“I will go and set up businesses and become stable,” he stated confidently.
