Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelical Church has surprised his congregation by revealing his reason for not wanting grandchildren.
In a video that has surfaced online from one of his sermons, Ng’ang’a explained that raising daughters is a unique challenge, and if a parent is not careful, they may lose them to worldly pleasures and indulgences.
The pastor mentioned that he warned his daughters while they were growing up, making it clear that if any of them dared to get pregnant, they would have to leave his house.
Ng’ang’a clarified that this did not mean he would abandon them, but he would assist them from afar, stating that he did not want grandchildren because he himself is a grandchild.
“I told my daughters, if you have a child, it’s outside my home. We will greet each other with a handshake, and if I help you, it will be from a distance. But raising your child here with me? Grandchildren? Whose grandchildren? I don’t want grandchildren because I am a grandchild myself,” Ng’ang’a said.
The pastor emphasized that he could not allow his daughters to bring him grandchildren, stating that if he accepted this, it would mean he is not truly saved.
“Maybe that means I am not saved. I won’t be saved, but if you handle things well, I welcome you. If you have a husband, that’s fine, but don’t have a child while living in my house. That’s just me, not God,” Ng’ang’a added.
