Comedian David Oyando, popularly known as Mulamwah, has finally revealed why he made the statement denying his daughter with his ex-partner, Caroline Muthoni.
Speaking in a video posted on Ruth K’s YouTube channel, the 31-year-old comedian claimed that he took this step due to the immense pressure he was experiencing in his life.
He said the pressure began to build up following posts and interviews by his co-parent after they announced their separation.
“I started getting angry and began posting things I shouldn’t have. I believe God held me back because I didn’t post everything. I’ve held onto many things that, if said, would negatively affect other people’s lives or be misunderstood,” Mulamwah said.
The father of three claimed that he wanted people to stop associating him with things his co-parent posted or talked about in interviews.
“When I posted that, I wanted to stay out of this story so that when you (Carrol) go to other interviews to talk about your child, I wouldn’t be mixed up in it. That was my idea, and after that, things started getting more complicated,” he said.
Mulamwah noted that the events following his post were not right, as he and Carrol faced a lot of social media harassment concerning their child.
However, the comedian made it clear that he was glad he took that step because it was the best choice, as the pressure made him consider doing even worse things.
“I had to choose to stay alive for myself. That’s why I had to say that this is not my child. So that I wouldn’t be judged based on that because the pressure was mounting. It was a lot of pressure, very bad.
That’s the only reason I’m alive today because I was considering other ways, meaning from this story, I thought I should go somewhere and maybe do something bad to many people and myself. Those were my thoughts,” he said.
In April 2022, Mulamwah surprised many when he publicly announced that Keilah, the daughter he had with Carrol Sonie, was not his child.
