More Concern Over Kibet Bull’s Whereabouts as Body of Missing University Student Found Dumped
The rising cases of abductions in the country have sparked fresh concerns following the discovery of the body of a Laikipia University student dumped by the roadside.
The deceased, identified as Pivon Nyanchoka, was a fourth-year Biomedical student who had been missing for weeks under unclear circumstances. Police recovered the body and transported it to the mortuary as investigations began to determine the cause of death.
Nyanchoka’s tragic demise adds to a growing list of mysterious abductions and killings that have left families devastated. This comes just weeks after another university student, Gideon Kibet, popularly known as Kibet Bull, disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
Kibet was reportedly abducted on December 24, 2024, shortly after visiting the office of Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah. Narrating the events, Omtatah revealed that Subaru vehicles equipped with surveillance gadgets were parked near his office during his meeting with Kibet and others interested in his presidential plans.
“I believe he was abducted by DCI officers. My security detail alerted me about a Subaru mounted with spy gadgets monitoring communications. It was parked across the road and left shortly after Mr. Kibet departed,” Omtatah stated.
He added that a search through the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) records linked the vehicle to a person identified as Caroline. However, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismissed the allegations, terming them baseless and inflammatory.
“The vehicle in question is not linked to the DCI. These allegations sensationalize a sensitive matter currently under investigation,” read a statement from the DCI. The Inspector General also reiterated that all police operations adhere to constitutional and legal frameworks, assuring the public that no extrajudicial actions would be tolerated.
