Luo TikToker Becky Akinyi has opened up about the financial struggles she is facing in Dubai, where she traveled in search of better opportunities.
Becky, known for her lively and engaging content on TikTok, has found herself in a difficult position as her visa nears expiration, forcing her to ask for help publicly for the first time.
Becky, who has garnered a significant following on social media, revealed during a live session how embarrassed she feels about her current situation.
According to her, she has never had to borrow money from anyone before, making this experience particularly painful.
“I just needed financial support, and I hope I get help. You guys do not know how much I have been trying to borrow money from people since the month started. Literally, no one wants to loan me money, yet I have never borrowed cash from anyone. I feel so embarrassed,” she shared with her followers.
The influencer disclosed that she needs to raise over KSh 150,000 to sort out her visa situation before it expires at the end of the month.
Failing to do so could result in her being forced to leave Dubai, potentially derailing her efforts to build a better life for herself.
Becky also mentioned that she has no close friends in the diaspora to rely on for support, as she often finds herself alone. This isolation has only added to her sense of helplessness and frustration.
Despite her pride and reluctance to ask for help, Becky has reached a point where she sees no other option. She even considered returning to Kenya to work as a house help to earn the money she needs.
“I hate asking for help, but I have no choice,” she said, highlighting the seriousness of her predicament.
