James Mwangi, the grieving husband of the late Mbaitu FM presenter Mercy Mawia, has spoken out against rumors surrounding her death and funeral arrangements.
Mercy Mawia passed away following surgery complications, leaving her family and fans in deep mourning.
Mwangi has been at the forefront of organizing Mawia’s funeral and has now clarified details to counter misinformation spreading on social media.
In a recent interview, he expressed his disappointment over false reports claiming that Mawia had wished to be cremated.
“There are fabricated stories doing rounds on social media about Mawia’s last wishes. It is very disrespectful and inhumane for people to clout chase without considering the feelings of the affected family,” Mwangi stated on his Facebook page.
Mwangi emphasized that the family is focusing on honoring Mawia’s memory respectfully and requested privacy during this challenging time.
He confirmed that arrangements are underway for Mawia’s burial, which will take place in Nyahururu. Daily meetings are being held at Norwich House, 7th floor, room 3, to finalize the preparations. A requiem mass is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, at AIC Milimani, and the burial is set for either August 2 or August 3, with the exact date yet to be confirmed.
The family plans to share official updates regarding the funeral arrangements to keep friends and fans informed.
Mwangi expressed gratitude for the support they have received, stating, “We appreciate your continued support and prayers during this difficult moment.”
