In Kiambu town, a man believed to be from the Kikuyu community narrowly escaped a beating after being spotted wearing a yellow T-shirt associated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the current ruling party.
A video shared on social media platform X by city lawyer Ndegwa Njiru captured the man sprinting to escape a group of angry locals who were pursuing him, chanting and shouting in frustration.
The man, pleading with the crowd, could be heard saying, “Wacheni ujinga, hii nguo ni yangu” (“Stop the nonsense, this shirt is mine”), as he tried to reason with the angry youth.

This incident occurs as Kenyans face challenging economic times, with many expressing regret over their choice in last year’s election.
The current administration, led by President William Ruto, had initially raised high expectations, promising improved livelihoods.
However, the economic struggles and perceived unmet promises have stirred widespread public discontent, leading to scenes like this in Kiambu.
