The family of Samuel Ngure, a recent graduate from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), is in turmoil after his sudden disappearance just days after securing a well-paying job.
The 26-year-old, who earned a degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, was last seen on June 23, 2024, leaving his family’s home in Matasia, Ngong, to attend a church service.
Samuel, known for his academic excellence and dedication, had recently expressed frustration over the job market.
His efforts paid off when he landed a promising position with a reputable company in Nairobi, bringing immense joy and relief to his family.
“We were all so proud of him,” said Bishop Peterson Njau, Samuel’s father. “He had finally achieved what he had worked so hard for.”
On the day of his disappearance, Samuel left the church to run some errands in Nairobi’s Central Business District, promising to return home by evening.
However, he never came back. The family’s anxiety grew as hours turned into days without any communication from him.
Despite filing a missing person report and conducting exhaustive searches in hospitals and police stations, there have been no leads on his whereabouts.
Adding to the family’s distress is Samuel’s medical condition. His mother revealed that he has been managing Bipolar 2, a condition that, while under control, requires regular monitoring and medication.
“He’s always been responsible about his health,” she noted. “It’s unlike him to just vanish without a word.”
Samuel was last seen wearing an off-white khaki trouser, a light maroon shirt, a black tie, a brown coat, and blue shoes.
His disappearance has left his family and friends deeply troubled, especially considering his recent professional success and the bright future that lay ahead.
“We appeal to anyone who might have seen or heard from Samuel to come forward,” urged his father. “Our son is out there, and we need to find him.”
The family remains hopeful that Samuel will return safely and is relying on the support of the community and law enforcement to bring him back.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the nearest police station or reach out to the family directly.
