Esther Mwende Macharia Leaves Radio Maisha After Months of Unpaid Work

Popular radio presenter Esther Mwende Macharia has made the difficult decision to leave Radio Maisha, a station she has called home for the past 14 years. Mwende announced her departure on Saturday, August 17th.

In an emotional message shared on her social media platforms, Mwende expressed gratitude to Standard Media Group, the parent company of Radio Maisha, for the opportunities they provided her throughout her career.

“I hereby wish to announce my departure from Radio Maisha and Standard Group at large, effective immediately. I would like to thank Standard Group management for the opportunity to grow my career as well as my brand for the last 14 years,” Mwende began in her post.

Mwende also took the time to appreciate her loyal fans, who have supported her throughout her journey. She reassured them that she is not stepping away from the media industry entirely and hinted at an exciting new chapter in her career.

“Most importantly, I would like to extend my gratitude to my FANS all over the country and beyond for holding down the Queen. You guys are the best, and I really do appreciate you. With that said, I cannot wait to share with you my next home so that I can continue DOING what I DO BEST,” she said.

Mwende, who was born on September 12, 1986, in Ukunda, Kwale County, has not only been a beloved radio presenter but also a successful corporate MC, hosting events for prestigious companies.
