Plan to form a Coastal Party has collapsed and left Gov. Amason Kingi sidelined.

The push by a section of coastal leaders to form their own local political party to rival ODM and UDA has suffered serious setback and the plan has flopped.

This is after majority of politicians from the coastal region allied to both DP Ruto and PM Raila were directed to distance themselves from the idea citing resistance from the residents for any other party.

This new development has left Kilifi governor Hon Amason Kingi, who has been the face behind the push for the formation of a coastal based political party a lone ranger. Mr Kingi, a Ruto’s mole, was trying to use the push for a coastal political party to revive his political career after his two terms as a governor expires next year.

According to Kingi’s aides, the governor has been pushed into a corner and is now contemplating abandoning the push altogether and go back home – ODM.

Owen Baya cited outside forces for the collapse of the push to form their own political party.
