Man, 67, who walked 230Km for Mashujaa Day stranded at a hotel

Stephen Kariuki, 67-year-old man who walked from Nakuru to Kirinyaga for Mashujaa Day celebration, could miss his second Mashujaa fete.

The elderly man revealed that he is stranded at Kerugoya hotel, having walked at least 230 Kilometers to attend 58th Mashujaa fete. He arrived in Kirinyaga at 7pm on Tuesday.

Kariuki was received by a group of officers working for Governor Waiguru, who took him to the County boss’s residence in Kajio town near Sagana.

He was joined by another 50-member group said to be Mau Mau heroes.

Waiguru reportedly left the visitors in the hands of her aides but on WdWednesd Morning, no representative from the governor’s office came for him, leaving him stranded.
