New details have emerged on the controversial Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wauchomba’s meeting with One Kenya Alliance Principa and the Barong County Senator Gideon Moi after she hinted at ditching Deputy President William Ruto’s led camp.
Other leaders who graced the KANU leader’s meeting along Wamuchomba included: Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Nyeri Deputy Governor Caroline Karugu, Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga, Samburu West Member of Parliament Naisula Lesuuda, Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi among other leaders.
The former Kameme and Inooro FM presenter was among the group of distinguished women leaders who graced Gideon Moi’s meeting at his Kabarak on Wednesday 25 August.
Wamuchomba’s meeting with the Baringo Senator who is a fierce rival of the second in command, came after she defected from President Uhuru Kenyatta led Kieleweke camp to DP Ruto’s led Tangatanga team.
The lawmaker reportedly stated that she dumped the Head of State’s team because of his handshake with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga that was orchestrated in 2018 after the chaotic 2017 general election that saw Kenyans vote twice and plans to merge Raila’s ODM party with the ruling Jubilee party.
Wamuchomba claimed Mount Kenya region people were very angry with the President for associating with the former Prime Minister, adding that she joined DP Ruto camp following pressure from her supporters.
However, in an exclusive interview with Kamau wa Kang’ethe of Inooro TV recently, the lawmaker stated that she has no problem with the Head of State and she would not hesitate to go back to the Jubilee party if the President calls her back.
“If he (Uhuru) calls to tell me that he wants us to have a conversation, even if I were sitting with the DP, I would go running very fast because we love him as our President,” she said.
Now her meeting with the One Kenya Alliance Principal Gideon Moi a close ally of the Head of State has left many wondering whether the President has asked her to ditch the Second in Comand’s camp already.
Reports indicated that Gideon Moi’s meeting agenda with the prominent women leaders is to try and unite the country and work for the same purpose that is to support the president in his endeavors and give him a humble time during his term in office.
