TV presenter joins ODM, vows to dethrone Aisha Jumwa from parliamentary seat

KTN TV presenter Jamal Gaddafi has joined a long list of politicians seeking to dethrone Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa from the helm of the parliamentary seat.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Jamal revealed that he will vie for the parliamentary seat under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.

The presenter rose to fame a few years ago after winning KTN’s reality show, The Presenter. Since then, he has woed his fans with his entertainment show Mzuqa at the Mombasa Road-media station.

Flanked by his father and political activist Jamal Sheikh during the presser, the TV host expressed his confidence to clinch ODM’s party ticket in the primaries before facing off Aisha Jumwa and other candidates from rival parties for the MP seat.

Jamal will seek to beat the likes of former Malindi MP William Mtengo, former Coast Water Works Development Agency board member Amina Mnyanzi, Kenneth Karisa Mulewa and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Sports Officer Lenox Safari Pande who are also eyeing the ODM party ticket.
