TikToker Rachel Otuoma has opened up about how her love for her late husband, footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, remains strong despite burying him nearly three months ago.
Speaking on Oga Obinna’s show, Rachel revealed that she still honors her wedding vows and has no intention of removing her wedding ring, as it serves as a reminder of the wonderful moments she shared with Otuoma during his lifetime.
She also emphasized that she will never remove his name from her official identity, stating that it holds a special place in her heart.
“The name Rachel Otuoma will never change. It will remain my official name for the rest of my life. Otuoma gave me that name, and until his death, I was never divorced. There is no document anywhere stating that I was divorced—it was only death that separated us. So, I see no reason to erase his name,” Rachel explained.
Regarding moving on and finding love again, Rachel acknowledged that while it is possible to love again, she is not considering a serious relationship.
“I don’t think I will ever be in a committed relationship again. If anything, it would only be casual because my husband [Otuoma] will always be in my heart. I will never take off this ring because it would feel wrong,” she clarified.
Rachel also defended her decision to move out of the house she shared with her late husband.
According to her, continuing to live in that house would have been unbearable as it was filled with countless memories of their time together. She explained that leaving was necessary to help her heal and come to terms with the fact that Otuoma was no longer part of her life.
“That house held too many memories, so I made the decision to move out and start afresh,” Rachel stated.
Ezekiel Otuoma passed away late last year, just days before Christmas, and was laid to rest in early January. He had battled a motor neurone disease for nearly five years, a condition that left him paralyzed.
