On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, Kenyan rapper King Kaka announced his separation from his long-term wife, Nana Owiti, marking the end of their 13-year marriage.
Taking to social media, King Kaka shared a heartfelt message acknowledging the difficult decision to part ways and reflecting on the cherished memories they built over the years.
“We honestly never thought we would one day write a statement like this, but life happens. After much reflection and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end our relationship,” read part of the statement.
The rapper emphasized the significance of their journey together, noting that their primary focus will remain on their three children.
“Over the course of 13 years, we have shared countless memories, built a life together, and most importantly, raised three incredible children who will always be our top priority,” he wrote.
King Kaka also addressed the challenges of being public figures, appealing for privacy as they navigate this sensitive transition.
“This decision was not made lightly, and we remain deeply committed to maintaining a respectful and supportive relationship as we move forward separately. As public figures, we recognize that our personal lives may attract attention, but we kindly ask for privacy and understanding during this time,” he added.
However, shortly after the announcement, a viral TikTok video surfaced, alleging that infidelity may have contributed to the breakup.
A content creator identified as Atieno claimed that King Kaka fathered a child with another woman, reportedly a well-known musician.
According to Otieno, this revelation sparked a scandal that tested the couple’s marriage.
The TikToker further alleged that Nana Owiti initially forgave King Kaka after the incident, even standing by him during his battle with illness.
Despite her efforts to rebuild their relationship, the alleged infidelity ultimately proved too difficult for her to move past, leading to the separation.
