Renowned Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, recently opened up about her complicated relationship with her ex-lover, Nelly Oaks, and why she had to break up with him twice before moving on to her previous husband, Denis Schweizer, alias Mister Omosh.
Akothee and Nelly Oaks had been in a relationship for over a decade before their final split last year.
Shortly after their breakup, Akothee began dating and eventually married Swiss businessman Mister Omosh in a lavish wedding ceremony.
The two later parted ways with Akothee accusing the Swiss international of concealing a lot of things from her before they got married in April last year, something that angered her.
However, despite the end of their previous relationship with Nelly, Akothee recently revealed that their separation had nothing to do with infidelity.
Speaking on her social media pages, Akothee disclosed that she and Nelly had always managed to keep their issues private, which made reconciliation easier.
However, she explained that once their breakup became public, it became challenging to navigate due to the involvement of outsiders.
“Forgiveness is much easier when the issue remains between the two of you. But once you involve the public, it becomes harder to reconcile,” Akothee said.
She explained that most of the problems in their relationship were caused by the people they allowed into their inner circles.
These external influences often led to their breakups, especially during periods when they were apart for too long.
Despite the challenges, Akothee admitted that the love between her and Nelly remained strong.
“We’ve realized we can’t live without each other,” she added.
