‘Parenting: A Journey of Faith While Navigating the Detours’ released

Using compelling storytelling and sound scriptural backup, this book helps parent move beyond the pain of the present to a hope-filled future

HOUSTON – What message does God have to all parents? How can parents connect themselves to the very heart of God? How can parents equip themselves with the truth of God’s Word to fulfill their ambassadorial calling? What does it mean for a parent to have a well-planned journey for a child? Author Lucy Watani-Simiyu provides the answers to these questions and more in “Parenting: A Journey of Faith While Navigating the Detours” (published by WestBow Press).

This book takes an in-depth look at God’s relationship with a parent and the child through the lens of the truth of his Word. Filled with verses from Scripture, examples from the Bible and practical insights from the author’s own life experiences, it helps parents combine grace, truth and God’s Word to find strength and help children overcome obstacles. Instead of parents struggling with trials and heartaches they cannot understand — teen pregnancy, depression, rebelliousness, suicide, addictions and such — this provides readers the biblical pathway to help them as a parent move beyond the pain of the present to a hope-filled future.

“Maybe you are a parent in pain, paralyzed by fear of your child’s choice, perhaps weighed down by guilt and shame, caught in a slump, overwhelmed with regret and trapped in dead-end parenting so that God’s promises do not make sense,” the author states. “This book points you to the source of joy in your journey by pointing you to God’s word, the truth that sets you free.”

This book will appeal to those who are looking for insights and inspiration when their parenting journey gets weary.
