Headteacher, deputy face disciplinary action for tying students with a rope around a tree.

Disciplinary action will be taken against teachers at Thiru Primary school in Laikipia West if found guilty for tying three pupils to a tree as a punishment.

A multi-agency task force, led by Nyahururu sub-county deputy County Commissioner Moses Muruki directed the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to launch a probe after spending the better part of Wednesday taking statements from teachers and pupils over the incident which occurred last friday.

They has since directed the Laikipia West DCI office to open investigation against the school headteacher Shelmith Thimba and her deputy David Maina.

The deputy headteacher is alleged to have tied the pupils to a tree and afterwards post the photos on the school teachers WhatsApp group before one of them leaked them to the members of the public.

The students were punished for truancy and delinquency.

Mr Muroki, Ezekiel Mwanza(Laikipia County Director of Children Service), and Irene Kandege(TSC) termed the act as inhuman and directed the DCI to take over investigation
