Angry parents calls for the removal of Sigalame Highschool Principal.

Parents of Sigalame highschool in Busia County have called the removal of the school principal, the bursar and other staff following a spate of dormitory fires in the school.

The school was temporarily closed for a week following a second fire incident at the school in a period of two weeks.

The parents, led by John Obwogo and Ibrahim Aruna claimed the school management is engaged in a supremacy battle on control of supply of goods to the school and as result three dormitories have been set ablaze in the last few months.

They appealed to the Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha and Busia County Director of Education as well as the DCI to investigate the cause of the incident and salvage the school from sinking into Oblivion.

Earlier, Samia sub County education officer said it was necessary for the school management and the Education officer to organize themselves and dig deeper into the cause of the fire.

The consecutive incidences of fire in the school has raised concerns with the parent saying the incidences may impact on the performance of the students now that the school has been closed indifinetly.

The School management through the principal has appealed to the government and well-wishers to come and help the affected student who lost their valuable goods.

Kenya report also notice that the school is faced with the challenges of where to house the affected students and they have been forced to use makeshifts dormitories in some classroom.
