Mugithi singer DJ Fatxo has broken his silence following the death of interior designer Geoffrey Mwathi. Fatxo, who is currently a person of interest in the case, spoke to the press after detectives probing the death left his rented apartment in Kasarani. He expressed his interest in knowing the truth of what happened, saying “we all want to know the truth…and we believe that justice will prevail.”
Mwathi fell to his death from the 12th floor of Redwood Apartments along Thika Road where the DJ lives. Reports suggest that he had spent the day with Fatxo and a group of friends before the incident occurred.
The circumstances surrounding Mwathi’s death are still unclear, prompting the intervention of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) homicide department. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki instructed DCI Mohamed Amin to send a homicide team from the DCI headquarters to investigate the incident and take the necessary action.
Fatxo expressed his gratitude towards the DCI for their quick action on the matter, stating that the homicide team is dispassionate and that this will help resolve any claims of collusion at Kasarani Police Station where the matter was reported.
The singer also mentioned that he will schedule a day to speak to Kenyans about the matter, exuding confidence that the challenge will pass.
The case has caused quite a stir on social media, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding Mwathi’s death and the role that Fatxo may have played.
