Kenyan songbird Akothee, known for her extravagant lifestyle and unabashed confidence, once proudly claimed to have famous and wealthy neighbors during her travels abroad.
In a social media post in 2018, she humorously challenged her fans to guess her residence in Switzerland, where she frequently visits her son Ojwang’. Akothee playfully mentioned that her neighbor was none other than the late American singer and actress Tina Turner, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 83 after battling illness.
While Akothee does not own the magnificent lake house mansion in Switzerland, it belongs to her baby daddy, Markus Urs Meyer, a French national.
Akothee has often shared glimpses of the stunning property, including its picturesque backyard overlooking Lake Lugano. In September 2018, she showcased the interior of her posh holiday home, inspired by Tina Turner.
The music world continues to grapple with the loss of Turner, whose powerful voice and electrifying performances captivated audiences worldwide.
Her representatives announced her passing at her home in Küsnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland, describing her as a music legend and a role model. Turner’s indomitable spirit and boundless vitality have left an enduring impact on millions of fans and countless artists who drew inspiration from her.
A private memorial service will be held for Turner, attended by close friends and family members who will bid farewell to the legendary singer.
Tributes have been pouring in from the music world, with her manager of thirty years, Roger Davies, describing her as a “unique and remarkable force of nature.” Despite facing health challenges in recent years, including a diagnosis of intestinal cancer in 2016 and a kidney transplant in 2017, Turner displayed immense resilience and determination.
