Police rescue boy set ablaze by his two brothers

Police in Mandera County have launched investigation into an incident where a 14-year-old boy was allegedly set ablaze by his two brothers.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the class seven pupil was lured to their house by his mischievous brothers before being rolled up in a mattress doused in petrol and set on fire.

“The pupil had been accused of being a witness in a case that his brother Ibrahim Ahmed was accused of stealing a mobile phone. After setting him ablaze, the two brothers immediately went into hiding leaving their little brother for dead,” read a statement from the DCI.

However, police officers saw a fire coming from the house and rushed to scene only to find the boy burning.

They immediately rescued him and and rushed him to Mandera County Referral Hospital, where he was admitted in a serious condition.

Detectives are hot in pursuit of the two brothers.
