The 14-year- old boy who was doused in petrol and set ablaze by his elder brothers is dead.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, the boy succumbed to the injuries early today morning while undergoing treatment at Mandera County teaching and Referral Hospital.

“The 14-year-old boy had put up a brave fight for his life, but towards 2am this morning he gave up and went to be with the Lord. His distraught father Abdullah Hassan, who couldn’t come to terms with the loss of his beloved son, shed tears of pain and anguish as he reported his death to our officers,” said DCI Kinoti.
