Renowned Kenyan DJ Immo has recently announced that he has resigned from Radio Maisha and has joined Radio 47. This news has come as a surprise to many of his fans, as he had been a part of Radio Maisha for seven years. However, he is now excited to take on the new challenge of heading the DJ department for both radio and television at his new workplace.
“Tarehe 2, mwezi wa tatu, itasalia kwenye kumbukizi daima. Siku ninayotamatisha safari yangu Radio Maisha, angalau kwa sasa! Wallahi haukua uamuzi rahisi. (March 2, 2023, will remain a day I will never forget. On this day, I completed my journey at Radio Maisha, at least for now! It was a very hard decision),” he said in the statement.
Radio 47 has been on a hiring spree lately, as they have recently poached several journalists from Standard Media Group and Radio Maisha. This has caused a lot of buzz in the media industry, with many speculating about the reasons behind this move. It seems that Radio 47 is determined to become a major player in the industry, and they are willing to go to great lengths to achieve their goals.
DJ Immo’s new show, Baze 47, will run from 1 pm to 3 pm in the afternoon, and he hopes that it will be well-received by the audience. He has acknowledged that the new journey will be challenging, but he is optimistic about the future. In his official statement, he expressed his gratitude to Radio Maisha for the wonderful memories and experiences that he had during his time there.
This move by DJ Immo is just one of many recent departures from Radio Maisha. Several other presenters have also resigned from the station, including Eric Wambugu, Lynda Oriaso, Mbaruk Mwalimu, Hassan Mwana Wa Ali, and Emmanuel Mwashumbe. It remains to be seen how Radio Maisha will cope with these departures, but it is clear that they will need to make some significant changes to stay competitive in the market.
