Since the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition Party presented its case files to the Supreme Court, one of the biggest argument points which has been repeatedly tossed around by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has been that the papers presented by Azimio admit William Ruto won. The claim alleges that despite Raila’s public utterances, privately he has admitted through his affidavits Ruto won, only that  he failed to reach and surpass the mandatory 50+1 legal threshold requirement by 441 votes.
Cate wakamaru, a self-confessed Politics and International affairs specialist took on this version on her Twitter account. Cate attacked political analyst Arnold Maliba for assisting to spread this falsehood, asserting that nowhere in their submission do Azimio concede defeat to Ruto. She explained that they’ve maintained their stand, but only suggested that even if they were to agree with Chebukati’s figures, Ruto would fall short of the cut by 441 votes. Her tweet read,

A FAKE claim by
@ntvkenya & @ArnoldMaliba that Raila’s petition agrees Ruto won but failed to reach 50% + 1 by 441. Total lies. The petition, from the start discredits the figures used by Chebukati but notes, in just 1 page, EVEN by these fake results, no candidate got 50+1

On Monday, Raila Odinga’s presidential petition against William Ruto’s election was admitted at the Supreme Court.

Mr Odinga and his co-petitioner Martha Karua are seeking 23 reliefs including an order for inspection of IEBC servers and scrutiny of the rejected and spoilt votes.

They also want an order for scrutiny and forensic audit of the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (Kiems) kits, the IEBC portal and the presidential election forms including Forms 34A, 34B and 34C.

In addition, an order for invalidation of Ruto’s election and the IEBC be compelled to organize a fresh presidential election in strict conformity with the Constitution and Elections’ Act. The fresh election should not be presided by Mr Chebukati, they say.

The pair is also seeking an order to summon Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti to produce statements, photographs, reports, equipment, laptops, phones and other gadgets and any other material connected/related to the conduct of the elections and found in possession of the Venezuela nationals arrested at JKIA.

They further want Mr Kinoti summoned and directed to produce laptop(s) allegedly retrieved and seized from Koech Geofrey Kipngosos, an agent of UDA party and report on the forensic analysis and examination of the laptop(s) and content.
