Deputy President elect Rigathi Gachagua today differed with former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu at a Church service at PCEA Gathiruini, Githunguri, Kiambu County after the remarks the former Governor made on the outgoing President. Speaking at the event, Waititu said that he was happy that Uhuru is now the outgoing President and will be like any other common citizen.
He claimed that the President made many people suffer by creating unfavourable working environments during his term as President. Waititu advised the outgoing President to be very cautious after leaving the presidency, alleging that the President will be meeting the people he made suffer or lose their properties and places of enjoyment which he may chose to visit.

Waititu advised the outgoing President to be very cautious after leaving the presidency, alleging that the President will be meeting the people he made suffer or lose their properties and places of enjoyment which he may chose to visit.
“Saa ile unakuja huku nje ujue tuko na wai huku nje. Saa ile unakuja kwa bar ujichunge, hao watu uliwafilishika na wengine wako huko (Know that we are with them as you come out here. Protect yourself when you are coming to the bar, those people you made poor and others are there),” Waititu said.
The former Governor claimed that Uhuru should be a lesson to learn that power must come to an end.
But taking the microphone after Waititu’s speech, Gachagua said that Waititu was just confused because he has been out of government for a while.
Gachagua said that what Waititu had said was not the incoming government’s plan. He said that Uhuru will be given protection and will be respected just like other retired presidents.
“Baba Yao (Waititu) amechanganyikiwa kidogo kwa sababu ya kukaa nje sana. Msimamo ya Serikali mpya ni kuwa Uhuru Kenyatta atapata heshima yake . Yeye na family yake atalimdwa kama ile ya Moi na Mwai Kibaki (Baba Yao is a bit confused because he has been out of government for a while. The stance of the new government is that Uhuru Kenyatta will be respected. He will be protected with his family just like Mwai Kibaki and Moi),” Gachagua said.
