Doreen Gacheri, also known as Sherry, the ex-girlfriend of Lawrence Njuguna Wagura, popularly known as DJ Fatxo, has added her voice to the push for justice in the death of Geoffrey Mwathi, known as Jeff. In a video shared on Instagram, Gacheri apologized to her ex before declaring her support for the #JusticeforJeff movement.
While some social media users have dismissed Gacheri’s claims of dating DJ Fatxo and accused her of seeking attention, she has shared MPesa message screenshots showing that Lawrence Wagura sent her money to silence her critics. The move comes as detectives investigating Jeff’s death have ruled out suicide and are now focusing on possible murder and cover-up.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Mwathi was already dead when his body hit the ground from the building where DJ Fatxo lives. The windows at the house are fitted with grills, and the spaces do not allow an adult to jump off, leading detectives to believe that the body of the deceased was pushed off from the staircase or the rooftop of the building.
All five people who were at DJ Fatxo’s house when Jeff died have been listed as persons of interest. The case has sparked outrage among Kenyans on social media, with many calling for justice for Jeff and the truth to be uncovered.
