KENYAN TEAMS & FANS SHOULD SHUT UP OVER OFFICIATING BECAUSE WE REFEREES HAVE DECIDED TO SHUT UP OVER OUR SUFFERINGS.
“Hello Reuben, this time am writing to you on behalf of referees, not to complain over Kenyan Referees not having been paid for 9 matches (current season) and counting because Kenyan Referees are always known to be cry-babies. I am writing just to inform the Football Community in Kenya that just as they have decided to keep quiet over our plight and welfare, they should just SHUT UP over officiating because we are not complaining any more.
Yes, we were not paid for the 10 matches we did last season before the FKF got disbanded. We kept quite. Caretaker/Transition Committee came and also went with our payment for over 10 matches and the CS Ababu Namwamba is moving around the country allegedly “Fixing Football” but has given a deaf ear to our cries on what his government did to the referees who are the core of ensuring football continued in the country during the FIFA Suspension. We are not complaining over that anymore. We are now headed to 9 matches of current FKF-PL season without pay. But this we will not complain to over.
This time, the football community in Kenya should just be fair enough and accept the results as they get them. Many players are lamenting too but they are better off because they get food and transport from their teams but referees are squarely on their own. Economic times are tough, referees and players are humans too. As things stand, referees have to go for matches bila hata kupewa fare. If they fail to honor appointments, they will be victimized na watawekwa kando. So some of my colleagues have decided to find their own means to carter for expenses for these matches. It is painful to know what some of them do but its understandable.”
Sasa Reuben, hawa watu wanataka tuende games na hata chakula sina kwa nyumba, wacha fare. Nikikataa wataniweka kando. Walienda na pesa yangu over 60k, Caretaker ikaenda na 70k. So far nimeenda game sita.
This issue of referees is really stabbing my heart. I am an insider. The information am giving you cannot be challenged. The referees and players are really suffering. Kwanza mareferee yao ni mbaya. Wamegeuka omba omba hadi wameanza kuparara. Mpende msipende, mtaendelea kuona vituko. Currently if a referee is given just 2k for lunch and transport anasaidia team kusaidia. In order to curb match fixing esp kwa Premier League, first the referees and players MUST be well and promptly remunerated. Hiyo haina story. Otherwise we are wasting time and energy making noise for nothing.”
