Nairobians are no longer interested in mere rhetoric but want development projects that will improve their living standards. It is high time leaders respected wananchi and focused on work instead of politics,” said Nairobi County Government executives.

The Nairobi county government executives have rolled up their sleeves ready to execute the mandate by performing their duties in the new year of 2023 which is just a few days away after the general elections which were held on August 9th, 2022.

“We must create a city of Order and Dignity, Hope and opportunity for all in Nairobi. We can do it. We must do it. Let’s Make Nairobi Work,” they said in unison.

“My priority in the new year is to ensure that Nairobi residents continue to receive services because I have their best interests at heart. We have to make Nairobi work by restoring Order and offering our people dignity. Nairobi is full of opportunities and we owe Nairobi residents that much,” said Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Together with his deputy Njoroge Muchiri and the county government executive, Sakaja vowed to – in his own words – ‘make Nairobi work’ and deliver it from the shackles of corruption cartels.

Mulama promised to also lobby for consideration for improved terms of royalty payment to content creators and lobby for 60 percent play time for local content on television programmes.

The Chief Officer for Urban Development and Planning Patrick Analo promised the city dwellers of being treated the same with respected and are looked upon by the county government with dignity and honour.

“We shall seek to deliver clean and safe water for all households, affordable and decent housing, and clean and green Nairobi for all residents without favour,” said Analo.

The Finance Chief Officer Asha Abdi promised to make the Nairobi County Government a Center of excellence in financial management and economic planning for a national competitive County.

“I create an enabling environment for accelerated and sustainable economic growth through pursuit of prudent economic and fiscal policies and coordination of the County Government financial and economic operations,” said Abdi.

The Ministry of Health Facilities Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria committed to ensuring the provision of quality and targeted health services that respond to the unique challenges that come with the high populations in Capital cities.

“I will work in ensuring a plan will that enable the health sector in Nairobi City County to play its role in the realization of the national objectives outlined in the Economic Recovery Strategy, the Millennium Development Goals and Vision 2030 and overall the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). It is my hope that we will have a well-coordinated approach in our interventions that translates into better health outcomes and improved health status of the population in Nairobi City County and its environs,” said Mosiria.

The Chief Officer in charge of Youth, Talent and Sports Oscar Igaida said he will push for the Nairobi County government to be channeling more resources towards the rehabilitation of sporting facilities to help tap local talents and position the capital city as a sporting tourism hub in Africa.
Igaida who is the former Secretary General of 13 times Kenyan Premier League champions AFC Leopards said he was keen to deliver the youth agenda through nurturing and developing the existing local talent and ensuring that youths benefit from their God given sporting talents.
