Even before president William Ruto’s Administration crosses the 100-day mark, noises from one of his closest allies now threaten to ruin his compact team which has managed to impressively remain intact, weathering even the CS and PS selection litmus test that many had predicted would lead to a small walkout.
Former Judicial Service Commission member and Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi took to Twitter to sarcastically praise Chief Justice Martha Koome for limiting the number of people who can comment on her tweets to just a select few. Mockingly congratulating her for blocking the proverbial Wanjiku and Hustlers who can’t air their views on her handle, he noted that she had employed wisdom in doing this. His tweet read,
Ahmednasir Abdullahi SC
@ahmednasirlaw
Strange…no longer possible for both Mrs Wanjiku and Mr Hustler to comment on any tweets posted by the Hon CJ…I think the good lady it rightly tired of rabbles and dolts bombarding her with their views
It is worth noting that the CJ has since this week limited comments on her tweets to only a few followers.
Ahmednasir Abdullahi is a legal practitioner who has been described as a lawyer to reckon with.
He has set himself apart from other lawyers as an attorney who doesn’t hold any prisoners of the legal battle – he grabs opponents by their horns only to let free when they tap. For the decades he has been in legal practice, the Mandera raised Ahmednasir has been known by many to be fearless yet controversial in his pursuits. He harbors no guilt in the quest to stick to his stand by his principles. Owing to this, and the fact that he readily comments on social issues plus his influential media following, he has fostered animosity and likewise alliance within both the political and social divides.
Although he has never officially declared his membership of the United Democratic Alliance party, his views have made this quite obvious.
Koome, on the other hand, has been widely accused by both Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition Party leaders and their supporters as well for not only favouring president William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance, but also helping them take power.
