Naivas FC has registered a 5-0 win against Mwatate United in their FKF National Super League Round 2 fixture played on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Wundanyi Stadium.

John Kelwish opened the scores for Naivas FC in the 37th minute. Four minutes later, Brian Ouru added to Naivas FC’s scores. One minute past stoppage time, Vincent Likare’s goal closed the score at 3-0 at half-time.

After the breather, Mwatate United’s attempt to break through the Naivas’ defense fell naught, as Austin Ochieng made the score 4-0 for Naivas in the 88th minute. Three minutes past regulation time, John Mutembei bagged the fifth goal for Naivas FC sealing the scores at 5-0.

Meanwhile at the Mumias Sports Complex, Vihiga United drew 2-2 with Coastal Heroes. Michael Odongo and Oscar and Wanambisi scored for Vihiga United, while Ramadhan Mwanzia bagged the brace for Coastal Heroes.

On Sunday, at the Shamu grounds, Abdallah Hamadi’s goal in the 54th minute gave SS Assad a 1-0 win against Kibera Black Stars. Meanwhile, at the Moi Stadium Kisumu, Kisumu Allstars was held to a goalless draw by visiting Migori Youth.

On the other end, Shabana started their 2022/2023 National Super League (NSL) season by stopping hosts Silibwet FC 1-0 at Bomet Stadium on Sunday.

Following the win, the club’s head coach Sammy Okoth said he was optimistic that his side will compete well throughout the season.

“The first match is always important to any coach. This victory will be a benchmark as we plan for upcoming fixtures to work for maximum points” he said.

The match was attended by dozens of Shabana fans among them the club’s officials Evans Kibagendi (secretary) and Stephen Kiama (organizing secretary).

“The coach told us before the match to go and make an impact since we were playing away and I am happy I was able to assist. We played as a team for 90 minutes, an indication that we trained well” noted goal hero Ogechi.
