The Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria announced Kenya’s motive to bolster other East African counties in seeking to play host to the 2027 African Cup of Nations just this week.
The CS made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday, November 29, moments after following a World Cup match between England and Wales.
Interestingly, he was in the company of his Sports counterpart Ababu Namwamba and Jane Marriott, who is the United Kingdom’s High Commissioner to Kenya.
Kuria marvelled at their engagement with Marriott, who shared with them the rudiments of hosting such a prominent tournament as Afcon. “Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC, Ethiopia and South Sudan will jointly bid to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2027. Tonight we received valuable tips from the UK High Commissioner on the sidelines of the England-Wales WC Match,” said Kuria.
