In an outcome that has left observers confused and political pundits grappling for answers, one of the renegade members of the Orange Democratic Movement party who has given hints of leaving the orange outfit has now come out to bash former Kieni member of parliament Kanini Kega for not showing loyalty to the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition Party which he’s a member of.

In a scathing and direct tweet, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina pointed out to Kanini Kega that they are all members of Azimio, and the seats they respectively hold is courtesy of their alliance coalition because he personally campaigned for him and that’s why they won. His tweet read,
Sen. Ledama Olekina
My friend @kaninikega1.Azimio stood by you! I campaigned and voted for you that’s why you won. We choose you over @HonKioni that’s a fact!

Just yesterday, Kega said Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is the new Mt. Kenya kingpin.
Speaking on Wednesday, Kanini said Gachagua has put in the work of uniting the region which is commendable.
“Gachagua did well in uniting the Mt. Kenya region. He is the only senior leader we have. We need to rally behind him as a region,” he said.
“I want to thank the Gachagua who saw that Mt Kenya region will have a problem if we are not represented in East Africa Legislative Assembly. ”

Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu had earlier said Gachagua has put himself on the path to becoming the region’s kingpin with his ‘early signs’ to protect the community’s interest.
“Gachagua is right now the most senior leader from Mt Kenya in government. That puts him ahead of the pack,” Wambugu, who remained loyal to Former president Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2022 campaigns and elections, said.

Gachagua has embarked on an aggressive campaign to dislodge retired President Uhuru Kenyatta as the undisputed Mt Kenya political kingpin.
In recent weeks, the DP has been on a back-to-back offensive in the vote-rich region, meeting and wooing strong Uhuru troops in apparent efforts to fill the political leadership void created by the retired President’s departure.
