Uasin Gishu County Women Representative Gladys Boss Shollei who has just managed to win a second term in the same office has now admitted to the claims that have been going around about the incident at Bomas, but then went ahead to assert that outgoing Nyeri Deputy Governor Caroline Karugu of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition Party was also doing a similar thing.

Shollei was speaking while appearing on an interview panel on ntv that was hosted by the station’s presenter James Smart.
Responding to claims that she had earlier caused a stir at Bomas after being spotted with a bunch of printed paper-sheets, she accepted that indeed such an incident had taken place but clarified that the papers simply contained names of people who are in the United Democratic Alliance party of agents and who were to be allowed into the tallying hall. She noted that not only was it perfectly in order, but that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission also require such a list in order to know who to grant access to the hall and who not to.
Shollei then went ahead to claim that as a matter of fact, Azimio’s Caroline Karugu also had a similar sheet, yet in her case no one caused any issue. They further accused ODM of being unnecessarily dramatic to the point of having a laptop of one of her team-members taken away on frivolous claims.
Prior to all these, there was drama at the Bomas Of Kenya after a laptop belonging to what was at the at the time referred to as “one of the Political parties agent” was found at the Bomas of Kenya, raising questions on what it was doing within the premises where verification of votes was taking place.
However, since then, Shollei appears to have been vindicated. According to a statement from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission CEO Prof Abdi Guliye, he explained that the presidential agents are allowed to have a laptop for the purpose of downloading the form 34As Frome the IEBC Public portal.
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission also rubbished claims that the agent was thrown out of the Bomas of Kenya by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission officials.
