Mass Exodus looms at Nick Mwendwa’s Kariobangi Sharks days after giving Walkover to Kakamega Homeboyz

Ten first-team players are on the verge of quitting Kariobangi Sharks, in a move that will present a crisis of sorts at the Former FKF President Nick Mwendwa’s led side.

“There will be departures, some players want out while some are not in the coach’s plans. There will be players coming in, we have already identified some from other teams and some from our youth team,” a source disclosed to Mozzart sports.

On Thursday, Sharks have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Brian Olang’o after two seasons with the William Muluya coached side.

The custodian joined the club in September 2020 from KCB and was largely an understudy to Brian Bwire, Brandon Obiero and John Otieno during his stay the club.

The club has now confirmed the custodian’s departure in a statement posted on their social media pages. They went ahead to wish the Kenya U17 goalkeeper well for the future.

“Exit. After 2 seasons of service, Brian Olang’o has left the club having made 6 appearances in all competitions. Ahsante sana Olang’o and good luck,” the club tweeted on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile the custodian left the country on Wednesday evening for Egypt where he is set to undergo trials with an unnamed side both in the top and lower tiers.

“Brian left the country on Wednesday for Egypt. He is set to undergo trials with a number of clubs there and hopefully he gets a deal with one of the sides,” a source privy with the developments told Mozzart Sport.

Sharks finished the just concluded FKF Premier League campaign in 10th position with 45 points.
