Bongo Flava artist, Rayvanny, finds himself in a tight spot after being accused of defrauding fellow artist, Kayumba, by promising to collaborate with him.

According to Kayumba’s account on Instagram, where he posted evidence from conversations to transactions, he alleges that Rayvanny and his director, known as Mzava, asked him to send them 7 million Tanzanian shillings for a collaboration, which he did. However, the collaboration encountered difficulties.

“In February last year, I had my album project called ‘Fine Tape,’ which included several collaborations, including #shake, where I featured my brother @rayvanny. For this collaboration, I was supposed to provide 7 million, as instructed by Director Elly Mzava, who was supposed to shoot the video. I found Mzava and handed over 7 million inside the @nextlevelmusic_tz office in Mbezi Beach, believing I would get something good for my fans. But it didn’t happen; instead, the runaround began after giving them the money, and the agreed-upon video was not made until today,” he recounted.

“…and they took my money without considering that I am a young person fighting for my dreams with all my might,” he said sorrowfully.

After exposing Rayvanny’s misconduct, Kayumba also posted a letter purportedly written by the director admitting to taking his money and agreeing to refund the portion that concerned him, but still did not do so.

Director Mzava acknowledged providing an initial amount of Tsh 2,900,000, with a promise to provide another 2 million on 4/5/2023 and the remaining 2 million and 1 on 14/05/2023, but as of now, they remain unpaid.
