Comedian and content creator David Oyando, popularly known as Mulamwah, has taken legal action against his baby mama, Sonnie Muthoni, following a public spat that erupted after Mulamwah participated in a viral TikTok challenge addressing the challenges of being perceived as a deadbeat dad in Kenya.
The dispute gained traction on social media after Mulamwah shared his experiences as a father, while Sonnie responded by highlighting the societal pressures she faces as a labeled “toxic baby mama.”
In 2022, Mulamwah sought the assistance of the court to establish a co-parenting schedule, requesting access to his daughter for at least two consecutive days. However, the recent legal move indicates a shift in the nature of their relationship.
Taking to social media, Mulamwah announced the legal action through his lawyer, alleging that Sonnie has continuously defamed him by portraying him as an irresponsible father.
“Leo ni early kick off — if you have time you can read. Don’t be quick to point fingers. mambo ni court sasa. Diplomacy failed lets try it in in newtons. Don’t judge always pray,” he captioned.
The move has stirred mixed reactions from netizens, with some questioning Mulamwah’s previous denial of paternity and others expressing skepticism about his motives.
Meanwhile, Sonnie Muthoni has not publicly commented on the legal proceedings initiated by Mulamwah.
