Citizen TV Swahili News Anchor Swaleh Mdoe has found himself suspended from appearing on air, following an unexpected absence from his scheduled 1:00 pm bulletin on Tuesday, January 23.
Sources within the Dennis Pritt Road-based media house revealed that Mdoe’s absence was due to a medical check-up he had scheduled for that day.
However, his failure to inform his supervisor of this prior commitment led to management’s decision to suspend him indefinitely.
Since his suspension, Mdoe has been conspicuously absent from the airwaves for over three weeks, leaving a noticeable void in the lineup of Citizen TV’s Swahili news broadcasts.
Known for his authoritative delivery and commanding presence, Mdoe has been a staple on the network, hosting the prime-time Swahili bulletin every Monday at 7:00 pm, in addition to the 1:00 pm bulletins from Tuesday to Friday.
