Police in Bondo sub-county are currently conducting an investigation into the mysterious death of a 61-year-old man, identified as Nicholas Ogada Ogol, whose lifeless body was discovered in a guest house within Bondo town on Tuesday morning.

The grim discovery was made by attendants at the guest house around 10:30 am.

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo provided details of the incident, revealing that Eveline Atieno, the caretaker of the guest house, reported to the police about finding an elderly man deceased in one of the rooms.

Officers from Bondo police station promptly responded to the report, visiting the scene to gather information. According to Kimaiyo, preliminary findings indicate that the deceased had checked into the guest house alone at approximately 8:00 pm on Monday, appearing intoxicated.

The unsettling revelation emerged on Tuesday morning at 10:30 am when attendants went to clean the room. It was then that they discovered the lifeless body lying on the bed, accompanied by approximately 90 HIV treatment tablets.

Kimaiyo further noted that, upon initial examination, the body displayed no visible physical injuries. However, in light of the circumstances, the deceased’s remains have been transferred to the Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place as part of the ongoing investigations into this tragic incident.
