Natalia Githinji, a presenter at one of the urban radio stations in the country, is mourning the sudden death of her male cat named Mimi.

Githinji, through her Instagram Story, posted a mourning banner for the sudden death of her beloved pet, stating that it had been just one month short of two years since she first met him.

“For the memory of Mimi’s love, I first met him on February 1, 2022, but he passed away on January 17, 2024, our beloved child,” Githinji wrote on the banner.

Her fans on the platform responded to the instastory, urging her to provide a number for contributions towards Mimi’s funeral.

Githinji responded, stating that she did not want a lot of money but just wanted 20 shillings from each person touched by the loss to organize a proper funeral for her beloved cat.

“I don’t even want a lot of money, I just want 20 shillings from each person so I can organize the funeral… I will be very grateful; you are all very noble people,” Githinji wrote.

Despite some thinking it was a joke, Ms. Githinji went ahead and posted a paybill for the transactions, expressing her desire to honor her cat until he reaches the sand.

“You can send a message to my DM, but don’t send anything more than 20 shillings. RIP my love Mimi, this is for those who requested the Paybill,” she wrote, revealing the Paybill, which we do not have permission or authority to publish here.

“R.I.P Mimi, I love you so much, man. He was always there for me, especially after my surgery and during my struggles with endometriosis… animals are the best companions; they deserve everything. I pray Mimi goes to heaven 😇 😇,” she added.
